process skills help us to learn how to learn-- if you turn kids loose with a bunch of info the kids will drown.  teach to use skills to be more efficient learner.

 

Units all move beyond the summary and mix the students to combine found info into big ideas...  the "so what?"=

Google Docs Spreadsheet activity

---created spreadsheet on google docs all people took one row and completed the data in each column.  Can make document open to all and post a link to access on wiki or web page.  When a column or cell is being edited it becomes greyed out and locked to other users.  Easy buttons to do averages etc.
